The Eight Week: Exam

Image
"Examination" A school year in Grade 12 consists of Two Semesters. Each semester has Two Quarters. And every quarter, has a quarterly examination to determine if we really did learn something. And this is very important and should be taken seriously because, 30% of the grades come from here. And its what parents usually look at to see if you are doing good in school. What I hate is that, parents think that when you fail at the exam, you fail at school. Well this is partly true, but examination isn't the only factor in getting grades. There's also quizzes, seatworks, homeworks, and reciation. All of these contribute to one whole grade. But instances happen that, a failed examination pulls down your overall grade. So its really important to take these exams seriously. But its also not all where grades come from. The End Here ends this weeks blog. I just hope my exam results are good. See you next week! The Seventh Week: Move to the Beat

"Lets Dance The Night Away" Twice Dance The Night Away Practice Video Dancing is a well known art used by everyone. It expresses what words can't express. An act of communication full of emotion. Though many people are not skilled in this particular art form, I look up to those who are. I admire these kind of people, and I want to be one as well. It does sound funny and impossible, seeing me dance. But who cares, its what I want to do. And I hope I learn how to dance someday. Dati Dance Practice For two weeks, we were tasked to do an interpretative dance cover of the OPM song Dati. We were grouped into four, all tasked to do an interpretative dance cover. Each of us has our own interpretation, and expected to do well because of the two week time given to practice. Sunday is when we will perform this dance. I hope we do well, and have fun at the same time. Online Test We also spared our time for our review on the Quarterly Examination. We answered two sepa...

The Sixth Week: Information Literacy

Image
"The Importance of Information" Information itself are just letters to combine to make words that we combine together to create meaning and purpose. And we have been doing this ever since we started communicating. Information is a very powerful weapon. It can create and destroy lives. But we cant really stop this from happening. Every action has an equal or opposite reaction. So we need to be careful on what information we will convey to others. Its a double edged sword. What is Information Literacy? What is Information Literacy? This is the question that we will find out today. We were provided a video explaining what is information literacy. We were given 45 minutes to accomplish this task. In the video, the most iconic part was the so called "The Big 6". The Big 6 consists of Task Definition, Information Seeking Strategies, Location and Access, Use of Information, Synthesis, and Evaluation. These are the steps or guidelines defining information literacy....

The Fifth Week: Freedom

Image
"To Say or Not To Say. That is the Question." News are the main source of information that us people rely on. It is important to know what events are taking place at the right place at the right time. For without these information, we will be left behind living in the past. But, how reliable are these news? And why does it seem like news these days are so similar and always have the same topic of discussion? Debate Last week, we were asked to debate on a topic whether news should be free. If all news should be released to the public whether it is important or not.  So we did our research, and had some mixed results. But for me personally, I prefer news having freedom in what they will say and do. Sure it may be chaotic and unorganized but, these are whats happening today. These are the things that are happening that we are not aware of because news is so controlled. So with that, having free news is really an important thing that we need. To be aware of our...

The Fourth Week: Back to the Past

Image
"In the Beginning" We as Filipinos has come far since the days of old. We started as a native species, just learning how the world works. While others have advanced technology, we have the most crude tools available made from natural resources that this world has given us. We all know the history of the Philippines. That history, is our story. The story of how we grew as a race. Us Filipinos are the living proof, that whatever hard times or challenges may come in our way, we still rise up and fight. We never give up that easily. And as we overcome obstacles, we grow stronger than ever. Please Introduce Ourselves In school, me and my classmate was chosen randomly to report about the Pre-History of the Phillipines. Honestly, I didnt know what to do. When I was making my own presentation, I made my powerpoint look nice to compensate for my delivery of information. I was relieved that we were going to present in pairs but will be chosen randomly. And my prediction was c...

The Third Week: Digital or Traditional?

Image
"The Old Days or The New Age" Time flies by so fast. Before, we didn't have power, we didn't have electricity, we didn't even have internet back then. Those times were so inconvenient for others. Thankfully, people are creating new ways to make our life convenient. Throughout the years, humanity created breakthroughs to usher a new age of civilization. In today's society, we are living in the digital age. Where we take advantage of technology for our everyday needs. And people are still creating innovations in what we have today, imagine what amazing devices we will get in the future. So what effect does this have in media? Gaming First lets talk about gaming. We all play games right? An effective way of reducing stress, or causing stress if you're one of those hardcore gamers out there. Either way, its a fun and entertaining way to pass time in your free time. Traditional games include the games we commonly play when our phones are surrendered to...

The Second Week: Importance of Communication

Image
"The Art of Speaking" Communication dates back in the pre-historic times. Where people used actions instead of words to share their ideas. To help develop a community, together. Nowadays, talking is a weapon. People may say that "Stick and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me", they can. Its an invisible crime that happens all the time anywhere and everywhere. Talking is so powerful that it changes someones perspective in life in mere seconds. Before you say something, think about it twice. It may be a small thing to you, but once you gather all those small things, it becomes a big problem. The Garden of Communication There are many different types of communication. Each of them falls under communication but differs in how they spread information. A particular type of communication I learned in school is the Grapevine Communication. Basically it is an unorganized and unofficial channel of communication in an organization. The Grapevine...

The First Week: Knowing Yourself

Image
"The First of Many Steps" Growing up, we were taught a lot of things. We were guided by our parents in our first few years in this world. We were taught how to speak, how to walk . We were shaped by our parents, eventually becoming who we are right now. All of the things we've learned throughout the years is what defines us now. From the smallest choice, to the biggest decision. All of these has an impact in how we act and behave in front of people. An Activity for Everyone What others think about me In school, we did an activity. As you can see, these are what people describe me as. Most of them are good and few of them are bad. Through this activity, I saw what other people see from me. I caught a glimpse of myself through others and because of that, I got to know myself more. This actually surprised me because, I didn't know how people look at me until now. I'm quite happy on how people see me, and theres a lesson to be learned he...
